The Francoeur Game: 2006
It’s simple. Predict the end-of-year stats for Jeff Francoeur. Three categories: AVG, OBP, SLG. Leave your entries in the comments.
I’ll start: .260/.275/.465 ==> .740 OPS

.280/.288/.480 — and that .008 for walks is generous I think
I like your estimate, JC, so I’ll second it. .740 OPS
.265/.277/.483 ==> .760 OPS
.275/.301/.498 ==> .799 OPS
.265/.285/.480 -> 765 OPS yuck!
.257/.295/.458 => 753 OPS
.275/.295/.475 => OPS of .770…but please note that my projections are for Francoeur’s 2006 end-of-year numbers with the Richmond Braves. I can’t believe that Atlanta’s throwing away ABs like this.
.293/.316/.525 ==> .841 OPS
I’m an optimist, oh well. By the way, Frenchy is leading the NL in at-bats, and he’s just behind Ichiro for the ML lead.
.283/.315/.515 ==> .830 OPS
.290/.319/.532 => .851
I’m an optimist, what can I say?
.271/.293/.477
.292/.310/.525 => 835
.272/.310/.490 => .800
It would help if Francoeur took a team-first attitude and drew a walk more than once per month. At the rate he’s going, the Phillies, already stocked with “Me first” dip chips Jimmy Rollins, David Bell, and Shane Victorino, would make the perfect fit for Francoeur when the Braves get around to dumping him.
