Forgive me for my ignorance, but has it been proven that HGH doesn’t work? Or is it just that there’s not any evidence that it works? In other words, HGH might still help, even though we don’t have the evidence for it right now.

Interesting conclusion; on a related note, one side effect of steroid use that no one talks about is extreme self-confidence. Sometimes – and I’m thinking about Mark McGwire when I say this – that might be what a player needs to be successful, even more than increased body mass and reduced recovery time from fatigue.
