		<description>Also to note (although I&#039;m no tax expert) there is a 12.5% tax advantage for Burnett to stay with the Blue Jays making the $13.5/yr  equivalent to $15.1/yr if he signs with another club.  Although not talked about much the President of the Blue Jays Paul Godfrey was defending the clubs position a year ago about not bidding higher to retain Ted Lilly on a radio talk show.  He stated Lilly left $5M on the table to sign with the Cubs even though both clubs offered the same 4yr / $40M dollar deals.  He stated that players actually make more because of the different tax laws.  I&#039;m not sure if it&#039;s the signing bonus structure of the deals (there seem to be alot with the Blue Jays) or non-resident status but there&#039;s some loop hole.</description>
